Only a rear view because we were waiting for a bus in the opposite direction and this one came round the corner. I was just in time to glimpse an unfamiliar name on the front and then snapped away at its receding back.

Route 116 is an East Sussex CC funded school journey from Seaford to Cardinal Newman School in Hove and back. The afternoon bus runs back, 'not in service', I think, to Newhaven, Sainsburys.
Route 14C normally runs from Newhaven, Sainsburys straight (well round a couple of roundabouts) to Newhaven Town Station before heading along the coast road to Hangleton on the far side of Brighton. Its 4.40pm run however loops around Avis Way Industrial Estate - 12A territory - before picking up its usual route at Newhaven Town Station.
The 116 is passing Newhaven, Sainsburys and the 14C is at the Denton Corner interchange, where I lost track of it, expecting to see it on the nearby roundabout. It was only on checking in the timetable that I realised it took the Avis Way detour on that journey..

I was on this bus when the Rover cut across in front, causing the bus to swerve into a pavement safety barrier. There was a small amount of damage to both vehicles and no apparent injuries. As it was going to take a time to sort out the paperwork, I got off and crossed the road. It was then I spotted the Renault advert which appealed to my warped sense of humour!

I don't know who designed that poster, but I do hope it wasn't an example of the work of L&CSMC. The worst aspect is that it doesn't fit the bus' advertising space. Why go to the length of painting an 'iconic'!!!! bus in an historic livery and then stick a roll of wallpaper on it? Actually wallpaper would have been more creative.
Stagecoach Optare Solo YJ05 WCF Hastings 25 3 2011
If anyone has been confused by my misidentifying the blue E.Sussex CC Rider bus as a Renown bus, I apologise. I come from an area where they are Renown operated and their base is in Bexhill close to Hastings, so I leapt to the wrong conclusion. Although I can't find a Stagecoach fleet list, YJ05 WCF is clearly not on the Renown list and 'Solenteer' shows it as a Stagecoach bus.

If anyone has been confused by my misidentifying the blue E.Sussex CC Rider bus, right at the back of the photo., as a Renown bus, I apologise. I come from an area where they are Renown operated and their base is in Bexhill, close to Hastings, so I leapt to the wrong conclusion. Although I can't find a Stagecoach fleet list, YJ05 WCF is clearly not on the Renown list and 'Solenteer' shows it as a Stagecoach bus.
The pale blue and white bus in the nearest bay (F) is on route 5 to Robertsbridge. This is a Renown route. The livery is not one of theirs. Is this a new acquisition? None of the photos taken at this time are clear enough to read a fleet or regisitration number.
Renown runs Asda routes at Eastbourne and Hastings, so this bus must have been transferred over ready for Newhaven and Seaford duties, after the Easter break.
Route 126 - Renown's remaining route in Seaford and even that is shared with Cuckmere Community Bus and Compass. They do Sundays and the early morning run respectively.
