I don't know who Herr Krause was. My great Uncle Percy was a keen glider pilot who lived near Hereford, at Callow I think. Broadway was the base for the North Cotwolds Gliding Club. Herr Krause was obviously quite famous from the crowd surrounding him and his plane. Interestingly Percy trained British Army assault glider pilots during WW2. Maybe Herr Krause was involved in the German air force during that war.
Edit - I have, by the simple expedient of searching the 'net', found that Herr Krause was a famous sailplane enthusiast with long distance gliding achievements to his credit.More can be found in an article from a contemporary programme - www.sailplaneandgliding.co.uk/archive-item/souvenir-programme-sailplane-glider-approx-1931
