Cicada ready to shed his skin
Found him upside down on a Lilac leaf. He is comatose and will probably split tonight. Hoping to find the husk tomorrow

DO YOU RECALL HOW YOU TOOK THIS PHOTO? DID YOU USE A LONG LENS, OR GET IN CLOSE?
WAS IS A SURPRISE TO FIND THIS CREATURE? OR ARE THEY COMMONPLACE TO FIND IN THIS STATE?
I LIKE THE DEPTH OF FIELD HERE. SOMETIMES CLOSE UPS LIKE THIS HAVE LESS FOCUS THAN HERE IN THE BACKGROUND - FOR THIS PHOTO I LIKE STILL BEING ABLE TO TELL THAT THE BACKGROUND IS LEAVES.
