By the by, today (August 1st) is also Yorkshire Day, when Tykes can celebrate being from or living in God's Own Wonderful County (even, grudgingly, transplanted Lancastrians or Tudors). Although I scarpered a quarter of a century ago, I still consider myself a Yorkshireman. So: ey up, sithee, ev a grand day wi' lots o' reight gradely snap an' mebbe a pint or two.
