This statue marks the grave of Wacław Nałkowski, Polish geographer, educator, publicist and social activist. The statue was carved by his daughter Hanna Nałkowska and was unveiled on the 15th anniversary of his death in 1926. It is in the Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw.

This Panther (Panzer VI Ausf A) is in the American Heritage Museum (Hudson, MA). It was originally in the Littlefield collection. It was recovered from the River Czarna in Poland into which it was scuttled in 1945. The restoration was quite astonishing.

The John Anderson mausoleum, Green Wood cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.
This is actually the back of the mausoleum. I took the photo as I was fascinated by the numbers of neoclassical tombs in the cemetery. John Anderson owned a tobacconist. He was accused of murdering his pretty shop assistant Mary Rogers but was never convicted. He died of pneumonia in Paris in 1881.
