Fifty photographs to celebrate 50 years of membership of the Welwyn Archaeological Society. I stood for 'Head Boy' at The Howard School in 1982 as I wanted to give the leavers speech at the end of the year. I lost. Turned out Peter, who won, really didn't want to give the speech, so I got to give it anyway in the summer of 1983

Second of two pictures of me standing over the Prime Meridian at Greenwich, one taken in the 1970s, this one taken in 2015. Both were taken when on a Society coach outing. In the earlier one I just rocked-up and took the photo. In the latter, there was a queue for selfies!

Fifty photographs to celebrate 50 years of membership of the Welwyn Archaeological Society. Merle Rook was the wife of Tony. They created the Welwyn Archaeological Society in the 1960s. Her I am giving her a hug at a party in their garden at Mill Lane, Welwyn. Merle died in 2012 and I miss her enormously, She was kind, clever and loving.

Fifty photographs to celebrate 50 years of membership of the Welwyn Archaeological Society. I went InterRailing for the third time in the spring of 1988. One stop was Avignon where I had to pose for a photograph "sur le pont". Selfies with a 35mm camera where a little more hit and miss than now!

Here I am posing next to the "site hut" at a site at Kings Somborne school where I excavated an Anglo-Saxon grubenhaus (or "sunken featured building").

I took the radical decision to do 'O' level cookery ('79-81) at a time when only the girls did cookery in their first three years. I really enjoyed it so cooked meals for my friends. Here I am in the late Carol Spall's kitchen cooking supper for them.

Fifty photographs to celebrate 50 years of membership of the Welwyn Archaeological Society. This is at my former home in the coach house at Lamer Park. I had the challenge of taking a multiple exposure picture so I set the camera on a tripod and took a series of photos as I walked across the frame. I then combined them in photoshop.
