It is indeed Jean-luc. I actually live in Hampshire, but I used to work in Sussex and I often visit to take photos and explore the countryside,.

This scene is always worth looking at, a beauty with the church, the traditional old buildings and all the boats (plus a heron;-)

Glad you like it Gudrun...........it's one of my favourite places to visit! Well done for spotting the bird. There were lots of interesting ones around, Curlews, Redshanks, Oystercatchers to name but a few.............but I only had a 12-100mm zoom lens with me, and they were far too distant to get a decent shot.

Great view. Looks like some Norfolk thatch has snuck into Sussex. Is that the typical style in Sussex, too?

On second thought, in Norfolk there'd be gable-ends rising above the thatch. It's been too long since I visited.

There are lots of thatched houses in the parts of West Sussex I've seen. Thatching used to be regarded as a dying art, but apparently it's making a comeback.

I have no idea about the different in styles though.........although I'd be surprised if there wasn't.
