Stansted Forest Fungi Collage

Stansted Forest Fungi Collage
More fungi........please feel free to skim past if these are getting boring :-)

Top Left................Fly Agaric

Top Right.............Iodine Bonnet (possibly)

Bottom Left..........Ivory Bonnet (possibly)

Bottom Right.......the lighter coloured ones are Jelly Drops and the black stuff is Witches Butter

Again if anyone has better ideas on the identification of these fungi..........please shout. Thank you.

All four would be fantastic as single photos but as a collage they are even better, a joy to look at!
And looking is all you should do, I doubt eating would be an option;-)

Thank you Gudrun...........I got so many photos I decided that a collage would be the best way to display them. I may have a couple more yet once I've finished processing them.

You're right...........definitely not be be eaten!!

A very interesting selection of fungi Keith. Looks like you've been busy. I must head out myself and see what is about. I've noticed a few toadstools in the grass recently.

Thank you Ed.............I'm pleased you like these. I was lucky enough to find quite a few, although crawling round in the undergrowth didn't do my knees any good.

I already use a kneeling mat............but it's the getting up and down that's the problem. Thanks for the suggestion though Maggie.

What an amazing array of fungi Keith! I am not knowledgeable enough to name the one you're not sure of, but it's a great shot. I have never noticed the jelly drops or witches butter, but will look out for them. We have some strange varieties in the garden now. One patch has hundreds of minute fungi!

An excellent collage and I'm sure the bottom left variety will soon be named by someone.
I'm sorry I missed your comment on my photo yesterday, but I have answered it now :-))

Glad you like them Rosa.............I have so many fungi shots that I decided that a collage would be the best way to display them. I may have some more to come yet!

I'm probably going to give up with the identities...........I spent ages trawling through photos on the web and looking in my field guide, but there are so many varieties and many are very similar, and they also look different depending on what stage of growth they are at. It hurts my brain..!!

I think the top right could be iodine bonnet, which would mean that the bottom left could be ivory bonnet. The brown fungi, bottom right, I know as Jew's Ear Auricularia auricula-judae. I haven't looked any of that up yet, do I could b completely wrong. I really like this collage, Keith

Thanks for taking the trouble to look these up Amelia..............I find fungi very difficult to ID, even using google and a field guide.

Glad you like the collage..........and thanks again.
