Bosham, West Sussex

Bosham, West Sussex
A view across part of Chichester Harbour looking towards the town of Bosham (pronouced "Bozzum"), taken on a cloudy day last month.

Bosham is famous locally for the sometimes comical mishaps of visitors who decide to park by the shore at low tide, only to return and find their car floating away or at the least submerged under the water.

Please view large for best effect.

If you're interested there is a fascinating history of Bosham here: www.britainexpress.com/attractions.htm?attraction=3123

I like this one Keith. The high-key lighting effect suits well with the horizontal bands of grasses in the water. Well done.

Thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

The church and homes along the harbour look so beautiful Keith.
I also like the low point of view and lines of grass. When I hopefully visit this place one day, I will be sure to think about the mishaps you mention ;-)) When I read it the first time I thought it said 'misshapes of visitors'!! ;o)

A super shot Keith. Happy Wednesday.

Die Horizontale wird unterstützt durch die Streifen mit Gras. Eine sehr schöne Komposition mit einer wunderbaren Herbststimmung, aber die Badezeit ist vorbei ;-)

I do like this, Keith. It looks quietly menacing. I can quite visualise it « eating »cars. Obviously you escaped that fate…..:)

Je présume que les habitants de Bosham ont inondés Les alentours de leur ville pour se protéger de l'invasion des Mongols

Ha, ha.................that's a great thought, but this is just the natural occurring tidal flow plus the effects of global warning.

Anyway...........they put signs up asking the Mongols to stay away..........and they seem to have worked.

Interesting place. Your comment shows that it is wise to know a bit about the place prior to going there. It must be fascinating to live in a place with so much ancient history. That's somethiing we lack over here.
