Low Flying Gull

Low Flying Gull
Taken on Hayling Island this afternoon. Very windy, but hardly any rain :-) I only had a 12-100mm lens with me, so this is about a 50% crop. Best viewed large, on black.

Special K, Jean Paul Capdeville, Petar Bojić, trester88 and 13 other people have particularly liked this photo

That's a superb shot Keith! You have captured the gull beautifully. I like the half grass and half sky composition too. Lovely detail in the grass as well as the gull. You must be so pleased to be out and about again, and we all look forward to more great pictures!

Cheers Wilhelm............It took many attempts to get decent images of the gulls as it was so windy I had trouble standing still..!! I got two decent shots though.........I'll post the other one soon.

A great capture Kieth. Looks like a low dive bomber here. Pretty good for a relatively short lens .I had to look up where that Island was -I presume that is your patch?

Cheers, Herb

Glad you like it Herb. This particular lens and camera combo always gives great quality and provided you get the exposure right, heaving cropping is rarely a problem.

Hayling Island is only a couple of miles from where I live - and is one of my "go to" places!

Trés belle prise de cette mouette qui semble vouloir échapper aux bourrasques de vent.

Kind of startling, at first glance this fellow is skating along the grass! Nice shot!

Ha, ha...........thanks Diane! It was extremely windy and the younger gulls were struggling to stay aloft.
