Compliment

21 Nov 2019 26 25 335
This week in SSC: "Complimentary Colors" I've never purposely worked with complimentary colors before and knew nothing about them so this was a good lesson this week. I chose orange and blue for my colors because I like the way they look together. I hurt my wrist this week so I wasn't able to do as much as I would have liked. I started with an image I took of some embroidery thread and used a "kaleidoscope" effect in PIXLR to give it some interest. You can see the original and another "fractal" effect in the PiPs. (Sorry if my commenting is a little late this week.) ....and for Sight and Sound: Collective Soul from their album "Dosage" (1999) Compliment Compliment

Fun and Games

This week in SSC: "Dutch Angle" Your horizon line should be tilted so that it is no longer level. Well, I angled left and I angled right. I angled all over the place this week and now my neck is sore. I'm not sure if I succeeded with this technique or not and I'm not sure if I really "get" what "Dutch Angle" is all about but it was fun. :) ...and for Sight and Sound: Chuck Mangione from his album "Fun and Games" (1979) Fun and Games Fun and Games

Small Town

17 Oct 2019 31 56 354
This week in SSC: Tilt Shift Photography - "A process that uses selective focus to produce an illusion of a scene to look like a miniature." I've never tried this before. It was fun finding the right type of scene for this challenge. This was taken from the 4th floor of a parking garage right before a downpour. I used "Fotor" online editor for the "Tilt Shift" effect which was pretty handy. I think I'll enjoy playing around with this in the future. This is the "small town" of Bremerton, Washington featuring the "Roxy Theater" sign which belongs to one of the town's two theaters that have been here since the 1940s. I can't even guess how many times I went to this theater as a kid. Lots of good memories here. ...and for Sight and Sound: Hal Ketchum from his album "Past the Point of Rescue" (1991) Live: Small Town Saturday Night Album: Small Town Saturday Night
