'Illegal' Medieval Art at Lacock Abbey

'Illegal' Medieval Art at Lacock Abbey
Certain carvings and wall paintings at Lacock Abbey became illegal under reforms introduced by King Henry 8th. Instead of being destroyed, some of them were bricked in behind a false wall. Part of that wall was recently removed to reveal the medieval carvings in excellent condition. In this picture, some of the paint from the old wall paintings can be seen.
Lacock Abbey was the home of Henry Talbot, pioneer of photography.
