Februar 2016: Der chinesische Künstler Ai Weiwei erinnert mit einer Installation aus 14.000 gebrauchten Schwimmwesten an das Schicksal der Flüchtlinge, die auf ihrem Weg nach Europa ertrunken sind.

2015 sind 1.011 712 Menschen über das Mittelmeer geflüchtet.
3.770 sind ertrunken.

His fierceness seems echoed in the lion, his playfulness in the putto !

Wonderful series of photos, Heidi! This installation is honest, bold and is even quite beautiful to look at. (But, I dislike his self-portrait as the drowned Syrian boy very much.)
