A Single Pale Feather Drifting On A Tumultuous Sea Of Storm Clouds

Although I knew what I wanted my picture for this week's challenge to be, I wasn't able to actually take it until 7.30 p.m. Saturday night, due to it storming and raining all week. I happened to notice there was a break in the rain, so I ran out and quickly got my shot. I have to admit, though, I think the storm clouds in the background helped to enhance my shot.

I simply threw a feather up in the air, manually focused the camera at about 4 feet and with the flash on to expose the feather (as it would have been very dark on the underside had I not done so), took my shot. I had the camera on a tripod and used the 10-second self-timer so that I could be in a better position to throw the feather over the lens. (The camera was pointed almost straight up.) It only took five tries to get the one I was happy with. I also caught a flock of birds flying past in the distance, so there are more feathers - but they're all flying or floating in the air.

The picture is framed exactly like I took it - it has not been cropped.
