This was my parent's Ford Fairmont station wagon loaded down when Mom took a trip back out west to Arizona. It's pictured here in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at Mom's Aunt Loreas and Uncle Vernon's house. Taken in April 1982, just after she had gotten her first speeding ticket in Texas.

This was most likely taken by my Mom with her trusty Kodak Instamatic X-15 camera, because it looks like she put down her cigarettes to take the picture.

It's interesting how car makers keep model names for entirely different vehicles. The Ford Fairmont sold here was quite different.

I agree. Ford sold and Escort in Europe, but it was totally different from the body style of the Escort they sold here in America.
