Downy Woodpecker

Downy Woodpecker
I believe this is a Downy Woodpecker. I saw three different woodpeckers in this same tree while I was taking these pictures! Isn't three woodpeckers sharing the same tree supposed to be lucky, according to the Chinese or something like that? Ha ha!

Sami Serola (inactive), Indycaver (Norm) have particularly liked this photo

Its so hard to know the Downy from the Hairy but I would say it IS the Downy female. It was probably the Mum and Dad and a youngster !

I have both .. and the Red Bellied and occasionally the Pileated and the Red Headed

It it isnt a proverb it ought to be !!!

Great photo, but I'm not a fan of woodpeckers. They were really working the door frame of my Aunt's house over when I was trying to sell it. They were going after the wood bee larva and were opening holes faster than I could fill and patch them!
