Ebenezer Methodist Church

Ebenezer Methodist Church
This was the first Methodist church built in Illinois, in 1838. The picture was taken just before it was torn down in the early-1980's. It's an old scan and it was converted to black and white some time ago.

I agree. They should have classified it as an historical building and preserved it. They did end up saving the bell from it and it sits at the downtown Methodist church with a plaque. Here is what that looks like:
