Old Church Bell

27 Oct 2025 3 1 60
This bell originally hung at the Ebenezer Methodist Church, which was built in 1838 and located about a mile from where it now sits next to this Methodist church in town. When the old church was torn down in the early 1980s, they placed the bell here as sort of an historical marker. I use this bell as a test subject when shooting with my various cameras. That's why you see it so much. For Whom The Bell Tolls

This bell used to be at the old Ebenezer Methodist church about a mile from this spot. When that building was razed, the bell was moved here and enshrined. I shot this on a cloudy, rainy day using some old expired film that I had laying around. The package it came in had never been opened, so everything was brand new. This bell originally hung at the Ebenezer Methodist Church, which was built in 1838 and located about a mile from this Methodist church in town. When the old church was torn down in the early 1980s, they placed the bell here. I forgot and accidentally left the camera set on the "bulb" setting and the picture got over-exposed just a little. Ebenezer Methodist Church

This was the first Methodist church built in Illinois, in 1838. The picture was taken just before it was torn down in the early-1980's. It's an old scan and it was converted to black and white some time ago.
