Tongue Bay!
Looking North to Talmine across Tongue Bay from Strathan, Melness, Sutherland, with the waters of the North Atlantic in the distance,
The area was a historic crossroads for Gaels, Picts and Vikings and the area is named after an Old Norse term which refers to a piece of land shaped like a spit or tongue.
The sea loch and surrounding countryside is designated as the Kyle of Tongue National Scenic Area,
HBM and a large view recommended if possible!
Castle Grounds!
Benches both in and outside of the grounds at Cardoness Castle, Dumfriese and Galloway,
HBM to all!
Head of Steam
Full head of steam and ready to depart Bishops Lydeard Station and start the climb to Crowcombe station, The station stands at the highest point on the line, just under 400 feet (120 m) above sea level, approached by a 1:86 gradient either side, West Somerset Railway!

Blue Bench with a view,
A sunny North Sea and the small harbour at Staxigoe, located 2 miles east of Wick on the north-eastern coast of the former county of Caithness,
The few boats that still work from the harbour fish mainly for Crab and Lobster,
The unusual name is Norse and loosely translates to "inlet of the stack"
A very slight deviation from the main road and missed by many dashing past on the way to John O'Groats and the "North Coast 500 route!
Worth a look in large if the site will allow!

Between Fountain and Sea,
A number of empty benches on a bright sunny September day on the Ayrshire Coast!
Just after covid and many folk were still not venturing out. The fountain was presented to the town of Ayr by Hugh Steven, a Glasgow iron founder.
Ayr, is a town situated on the southwest coast of Scotland. The Isle of Arran can just be seen on the horizon and across The Firth of Clyde!

A seat for the Sunset.
Brean Down across the bay from the Prince Consort Gardens,Weston Super Mare, on a chilly spring evening,
No takers for the many benches as the incoming tide brought a stiff breeze blowing in off of the Bristol Channel,

A great view along the Ayrshire coast and of Dunure Castle ruins, from this bench perched on top of the cliffs!
