Breakwater

Breakwater
The North Sea can be fearsome so even small well sheltered harbours like here at Latheronwheel has a need to slow down the waves, this is one of a pair of walls that guard the entrance,
The eroded cliff to the right of the stack bear testimony to the power of the sea,

Maria Lovasz, Marco F. Delminho, Erhard Bernstein, Smiley Derleth and 26 other people have particularly liked this photo

Beautifully composed Roger..................with very clever use of leading lines from the wall and the rocks.

It looks very quiet and peaceful there with the gorgeous blue sky and calm seas, but I'm sure it can change in an instant. A cracking capture sir!

Me gusta ese horizonte marino por su posición y nitidez. El verdín que se agarra a las piedras a la derecha denota que el agua no está muy contaminada. Lo que se ve de espigón es pequeño. Buen jueves Roger.

A very nicely composed shot of this rugged scene Roger. Erosion by the same North Sea is a big problem along the North and East Yorkshire coast, due to the soft nature of the rock along the shore.

All the best, Doug
