Glenreagh rail 170607 012
Old semaphore signal and levers plus modern colour light signals and signaling cabinets. Glenreigh is midway between Coffs Harbour and Grafton in NSW. June 2007.

HFF to my Ipernity viewers for 05/09/25.Fences around points/signal levers and around signals on the gantry.

The old ground frame doesn't look connected to anything. Is there another lever signal box to operate the semaphore in the distance or is it just for show these days?

HFF Graham . Have a great weekend.

The line through here is the standard gauge connection to Brisbane Qld, single track from Maitland to Brisbane. The ground frame is from the era when Glenreagh had a goods yard and was a junction for a branch line. At the time of this photo there was only a crossing loop. The colour light signals on the gantry belong to the CTC system which had been in use since the eighties with the control centre at the Newcastle suburb of Broadmeadow.

Thanks Roger. Preservation has been attempted but there isn't the population base and there are two preservation groups on the closed branch line, one at each end and a river between here and an uncertified bridge over a river to the right of the photo and the reason for the semaphore signal still remaining.
