Saturday challenge - Dramatic photography
The world's first cable tram system commenced operation in San Francisco in 1873.
This invention, and the progress of the San Francisco system, had been closely watched by an American transport entrepreneur and Melbourne businessman, Francis Boardman Clapp. Clapp set up the Melbourne Omnibus Company with William McCulloch and Henry Hoyt, bringing organised street public transport to Melbourne.
In 1877, Clapp bought the Victorian patents of Andrew Hallidie's inventions and changed the name of his company to the Melbourne Tramway & Omnibus Company.
Melbourne's first electric tram began operation on 14 October 1889

TSC Fast shutter speed
There are essentially two ways to freeze motion with a camera:
1.Use a Fast Shutter Speed such that the “sliver of time” you are capturing is very short and the object being captured moves very little, if at all, during the extremely short duration the shutter is open, or
2.Use the very Short Duration of a Flash so that the object you are photographing gets illuminated for a very small sliver of time. The duration time of an electronic flash can be extremely short. For example, a Speedlight like the Canon 580EXII at 1/128 power is less than 1/19,000th of a second!
Hilarious... had a lot of fun with this. I tried without flash... dismal results, but not really the right lens for the job, so resorted to flash. Even then, focus was not that good but hey, I tried :-) Spent an hour at least... Remote control and tripod, plenty of timing issues... After a break, I tried again, with a helper dropping the pepper, better result... although the poor pepper was starting to look a little battered :-)

Early morning in NSW, Australia.
Later we went to an excellent garden centre and bought some plants. Then took our dogs to a fenced off leash park, now open, which is just huge... they loved it. A few other people and dogs but plenty of space for everyone. Then to the bottle o. Friday treats, so good to be out and about.
Saturday challenge - minimalism, one item for your subject.

I went down to check on the Plover's chicks, and they have gone. Mama Lapwing didn't divebomb me so they must be OK.
