The worst offender here is the transit system, though, Isabel. Several subway stations have large, donated works of art that they post on constantly. I once was able to inform a Portuguese artist that they had posted a sign on her tile mural, and they quickly removed tg\he sign when she complained.

At least they removed it…

But they just keep on doing it, Isabel. One of the works (a light installation) they managed to destroy through neglect.

Great photo, everything really hangs together, the diagonal shadow, the packing cases and the mural. And what a delicious irony for the liquor board to vandalize its own artwork; another case of the left hand not knowing (caring?) what the right hand does. Classic.
