That's believed to be how Haudenosaunee (aka Mohawks) got to dominate steelworking in Eastern Canada and the Northeastern US, Dinesh. In 1886 the Kahnawake Mohawk band in Montreal let some of its land be used for an abutment of the planned Victoria Bridge in Montreal in exchange for jobs in construction of the bridge. The bridgebuilders were impressed by the Kahnawake men's affinity for heights. They wanted to work up top, and they liked riveting when they got up there. That was the highest-paying job, and they soon were working on bridges and skyscrapers all over the Northeast and in Ontario and Quebec, especially in New York City. There are about 200 working in NYC today. It's convenient because Kahnawake and Akwesasne (another reserve, which crosses the border between Ontaro and New York) aren't far away, so they can go home for the weekend, They've worked farther away, some even in California. If you see a Mohawk warrior flag on a building site near you, you'll know they've finished their work,

Great angle. As far as working at heights, I can only admire those who can do it, Mohawk or not. I feel shaky just climbing a ladder.
