I really like how the office building dwarfs the shop in the PIP! Not nearly the effect of a riot of color, but a real message.

Thanks, Bob. In case you didn't click through I'll mention that the building is the world HQ of Thomson Reuter.

Remarkable.
The urban mix fruits, people, writings, plastic, baldness, hair…
It is life IMHO.

Thanks, José. You get bright colours, too, which provide relief from the muted colours that prevail downtown.

I just remembered that William Henry Fox Talbot wrote this in The Pencil of Nature:

"One advantage of the discovery of the Photographic Art will be, that it will enable us to introduce into our pictures a multitude of minute details which add to the truth and reality of the representation, but which no artist would take the trouble to copy faithfully from nature.
....
...It is well to have the means at our disposal of introducing these minutiæ without any additional trouble, for they will sometimes be found to give an air of variety beyond expectation to the scene represented."

No food quite healthy around though !

There's not much variety at all in this stretch, Léopold. If you get away from here you find more variety, but not a lot of places serving healthier food. You'd think that would sell well.

A lovely colourful and busy street image John...............but I have to say the building shown in the PiP is really ugly.

Thanks, Keith. That building has a bigger version next to it, too.

I'm with Keith - the colour and activity at street level is a good counter to the stark concrete tower.

Yes, the Thomson building is trying to impress us with its size. The food stalls have to use something else to attract attention, and luckily for us they chose colour.
