Cathédrale Saint-Paul d’Abidjan

La cathédrale Saint-Paul d’Abidjan est la cathédrale de l'archidiocèse d'Abidjan. Elle a été bâtie par l'architecte italien Aldo Spirito, à Abidjan à l'initiative du président Félix Houphouët-Boigny. La première pierre de cette cathédrale a été bénie le 11 mai 1980 par le pape Jean-Paul II à l'occasion de sa première visite pastorale en Côte d'Ivoire. Il a également consacré l'édifice achevé le 10 août 1985 lors d'une seconde visite dans ce pays.
The Saint Paul Cathedral in Abidjan is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Abidjan. It was built by Italian architect Aldo Spirito in Abidjan at the initiative of President Felix Houphouet-Boigny. The first stone of this cathedral was blessed on May 11, 1980 by Pope John Paul II on the occasion of his first pastoral visit to Côte d'Ivoire. He also dedicated the completed building on August 10, 1985 during a second visit to this country.
