It's not effective in changing votes, but I think it does help in reminding people that it's okay to be mad about the situation, so can be community-building. I actually meet too many people who seem to want to talk about the current state of affairs, but seem embarrassed to do it until I bring it up.

One of those perpetual, and never easily answered, questions of balance and timing. For example, Trump used name-calling very effectively to get out the vote, but I suspect that is eventually going to start being an embarrassment that weighs against him.
