Interesting older building in Mathenesserplein along the canal. The lettering in the tile work on the front at the top indicates a business being there in 1925. The letter on the right side creates a quandary of one letter. The first word is something about specializing, but the problem with the second word is the first letter. If it’s a ‘B’, then ‘bakkerswaren’ is bakery goods, if it’s an ‘s’, then ‘sakkerswaren’ is sacks – either would work for the location. In any case, it’s now a gym...
