Curecanti Nat Rec beetle infestation (# 0242)

Not a great shot, but it serves the purpose of illustrating the large amount of tree death that is occurring throughout the west. The immediate cause of death is a beetle infestation, but the impact of the beetles has been multipled by the effects of many years of drought.
