Banning school architecture (#0388)
"Society is as ancient as the world", on the assembly hall of the former Banning High School.
The building is a striking example of architectural detail in the former Banning High School, now Nicolet Middle School. I could not find any information about the design of these buildings. To me they suggest the PWA Moderne of the New Deal, a variation on streamline moderne. A plaque on the grounds, though, suggests that they were built in 1914, which would be before the New Deal or art deco.
