Montana Glacier NP Going to Sun shuttle (#0225)
When I got back to West Glacier I saw that they had worked out most of the problems with the shuttle, and so I jumped on a late shuttle up Going to the Sun road to Logan Pass. The people on the shuttle were interesting to chat with, and you could see what the Going to the Sun road looked like, but a shuttle is definitely not the place for photography -- particularly since you can't stop.

I really like having the shuttle when I was there, but you're right, it's not a good place for photography at all. On the upside, on a regular season when half the road isn't closed by fire, all the pull-outs on this side of the road are full anyway, and there's no place to park. And the last time I was there, all the pullouts on this particular section of the road were blocked by construction equipment.

I toyed with the notion of doing a quick 3-night trip up (fly and rental car) in September before the road closes and after the main tourist season, but airfares to anywhere reasonably close (e.g., Spokane) aren't cheap. Maybe next year as a longer September trip combined with exploring the Columbia River gorge and the Washington coast.
