Of course I had to look him up, because I'd never heard of him. His work is remarkable, reminding me a little of the premier Romanticist, Eugene Delacroix. Big, historically-themed canvases, maybe overloaded with figures and colors muddier than Delacroix's. Still, wonderful to look at. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to learn something new!
