Berlin, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (#2015)

I had expected visiting the memorial to be somewhat emotionally difficult, but found it essential to get away from the periphery (this is taken from one corner) and into the middle where you can get somewhat lost among the blocks. On the peripheries I found it personally dispiriting to deal with the number of kids playing chase and the couples doing smiling "Look, I'm at the Murdered Jews Memorial" selfies.
