I've not seen anything in Utah south of Arches or east of Bryce Canyon. This looks like a brilliant place to let yourself get lost.

It is. I've visited it multiple times over a span of at least 10 years and it seems to have picked up in summer visitors in recent years, but that's only meant sharing the space with 10 or less cars of visitors instead of what used to be a good chance of having it completely to yourself.
