CA-299 Cedar Pass (0878)
From just west of the Cedar Pass summit of CA-299, with Mt. Shasta, 100 miles (straight-line) distant. For the next 3 days, Mt. Shasta seemed like an ever-present force wherever I went. (Colors are slightly exaggerated to emphasize the visibility of Mt. Shasta)

I passed closer to Mt. Shasta this summer than you are here (I was only 55 miles away in Redding), but I never saw it.

I was actually in Mt. Shasta (city) and you barely notice it there. My experience of it is that the best views of it are from east of it. There'll be more pictures up in the next few days.
