Surprise Valley Lake City Flouring Mill CA (0865)
Per an article from the Sacramento Bee (link below), the Lake City Flouring Mill had opened in 1868 and was still in operation in 1966. (http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/CAMODOC/2004-09/1095845937)

The woods around the mill are recent growth, the following picture for what looks like the early 1900's shows the area around it cleared:

Couldn't find any more recent history re why it's still standing so well, but did come across an older picture (link added to description) showing the around it much more cleared.
