Treasure Island Naval Base BEQ 2189a

Abandoned Navy buildings on Treasure Island. Per a comment from a reviewer of similar pictures, these barracks were quarters for enilsted men and appear to have been built in the 1970's. Navy operations at Treasure Island ended in 1997.

On previous exploratoins around the barracks, I had not noticed that each had a small circle of benches in one corner. Based on my own military experience, I expect that area was a smoking area. In this picture the benches are barely visible in the lower portion of the picture.
