Downtown LA: Angels Flight funicular 3354a
The Angels Flight funicular, in downtown Los Angeles. The funicular was originally built in 1901, was closed from 1996 to 2001, and then reopened at a nearby site. Though the roadbed is modern, the cars are the originals.

Don't make a special trip for it. It's currently working, but they've been having mechanical problems off-and-on for years and so it too often gets closed down by the safety inspectors. When it's working, it's a short and fun ride. (And be sure to explore Grand Central Market that is across from its base station).
