The cemetery
Yes, a failure
Not a bad place to rest for eternity
Maybe vandals, or an earthquake
Coming back down the hill
First picture with this lens
Pine tree and undergrowth at sunset
Virginia creeper on the barn
Infrared tree pictures are an addiction
Clouds in 850nm are especially fun
Just testing the setup
It can follow focus
It can make pretty pictures
I named the ant Wabi-sabi
Back in the woods
As close as I cared to get
For some reason . . .
Lunch for someone
The pretty flower . . .
The problem with macro . . .
Pretty day
A nanometer too far
Sunset, 850nm
Black-and-white is all you get at 850nm
The dirt road up the hill to the old cemetery
Running away from home
Northern lights in southern Ohio
Very cold all week but warmer today
One spicy thistle
I see a moon arisin'
A caterpiller had a taste
Another oddly colored slug
Five-lined skink suns himself
A closer look at Mr. Skink
And a pseudohead on its hind end
It has a "foreskin" to protect its head
Wonder what the spots are for
Some kind of sphinx moth caterpillar, I think
Hmmm. Front legs extend beyond those claws!
Who is eating whom?
Soon to follow
Like a tiny artichoke
It blends in well, doesn't it
Be glad they're not 50 feet tall
Slug collectors, take notice

A nice surprise

Generally in digital photography, when a highlight is blown out, that's it -- it's gone. This is not so much the case with 850nm infrared. Here, I brought down the highlights a little, and raised the shadows a little, and found that there was a lot of detail in both.
