Friday 27 February 2026 (1135) - Stagecoach East 19610 (AE10 BXZ), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Trident new in April 2010, seen in Emmanuel Street, Cambridge.
Despite wearing the Tiger branding for the franchised services under the control of The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) this bus was working Stagecoach East’s own cross city Kings Hedges to Cherry Hinton service 1.

Friday 27 February 2026 (1038) – A quick visit to Cambridge today to photograph two specific subjects (although not this bus). I travelled on three different Stagecoach East vehicles, all MCV bodied Volvo BZL electric double deckers from the same batch new in April 2023.
Having parked at the Babraham Road Park and Ride the three rides I took (but only on two different buses) were:
*** Ride 1: Seen after I alighted at Addenbrooke's Hospital bus station is 86009 (BV23 NRU) (Journey: 1029 service PR4 from Babraham Road Park & Ride site to Addenbrooke’s Hospital Bus Station)
(Project was to photograph Stagecoach East 10802 (SN66 WAA) which wears the Cambus heritage livery. It came through at 1110).
Ride 2: 86008 (BV23 NRO) (Journey: Boarded at Addenbrooke’s Hospital Bus Station (1110) to Parker Street/Drummer Street on the 1105 service PR4 departure from Babraham Road Park & Ride).
(Project was to photograph the new Whippet Coaches Cambridge to Peterborough service X1).
Ride 3: 86009 (BV23 NRU) again! (Journey: 1200 service PR4 from Parker Street/Drummer Street to the Babraham Road Park & Ride site).

Friday 27 February 2026 (1025) – On board Stagecoach East 86009 (BV23 NRU) at the Babraham Road Park & Ride site prior to departure of the 1029 service PR4 bound for the City Centre although my ride was only to Addenbrooke’s Hospital Bus Station.
This was a quick visit to photograph two specific subjects, one at Addenbrooke’s and one in the City Centre.
Four minutes to go and all was quiet but then there was a deluge of passengers almost filling all seats on the lower deck.

Friday 27 February 2026 (1144) – Whippet Coaches WC33 (OU22 ZWW), a Neoplan Tourliner new in June 2022, seen at Parkside, Cambridge before working the 1205 service X91 ‘Blue Arrow’ service to Peterborough.
This service began on 26 January 2026 and serves Huntingdon along the way. There are four Peterborough to Cambridge services (0650, 1025, 1340 and 1720) which arrive Cambridge approximately 90 minutes later.
There are three Cambridge to Peterborough services (0850, 1205 and 1530) plus a Huntingdon to Peterborough run at 0600 and a Cambridge to Huntingdon run at 1905.
This coach carried the Flixbus livery when new at a time when Whippet operated a number of services on Flixbus contracts. I was a little disappointed that the coach didn’t carry the large fleetname and dog logo worn by sister coach WC34 (OU22 ZWX).

Friday 27 February 2026 (1110) – Stagecoach East 10802 (SN66 WAA) wears a livery representing that once employed by Cambus Limited prior to takeover by the Stagecoach Group (December 1995). Cambus, originally a National Bus Company subsidiary, was created in September 1984 and privatised in December 1986 when acquired by the company management. The livery layout and colours marks the anniversary and heritage.
10802 was seen at Addenbrooke’s Hospital bus station when working the 1050 service 7 from Cambridge to Saffron Walden.
It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400D MMC that was new in December 2016 and wore the grey Park and Ride livery. However, before reaching Cambridge it was one of a number of buses temporarily assigned to Stagecoach Merseyside (Glenvale) to provide increased capacity during railway engineering works on the Merseyrail Wirral line.

A spot of trouble for National Express Limited 362…

Friday 27 February 2026 (approx. 1134) - National Express Limited 362 (BV23 ZVH) quite unusually stopped in Emmanuel Street, Cambridge
It had departed from Parkside at 1042 working the 1040 service 786 to Luton Airport but the tyre on the rear offside tag axle suffered a puncture.
A tyre fitter came to resolve the issue and when I passed by on board a bus to Babraham Road Park and Ride at 1203 he was working on the problem.
Rear end advertising and side lettering is carried for the service between London (Victoria) and Luton Airport.
