Tuesday 17 March 2026 (approx. 1227) – Two MCV eVoRa bodied Volvo B8RLE buses of Dew’s Coaches Limited seen in Market Street, Ely. BL24 GYP, new in June 2024, was between trips on Ely Zipper services. The Bus Times website showed it as working the following runs today: 1005 Huntingdon-Chatteris 1122 (303) 1127 Chatteris-Ely 1215 (Zipper 3) 1255 Ely-March 1357 (Zipper 2) 1408 March-Ely 1522 (Zipper 2) 1540 Ely-Chatteris 1635 (Zipper 3) 1635 Chatteris-Huntingdon 1755 (303) 1830 Huntingdon-Chatteris 1945 (303) BU52 ELY, new in April 2023, was working the Zipper service 1. This bus has carried this registration from new, a registration previously carried by another bus employed on the Zipper service and is a play on ‘Bus to Ely’. I believe this bus was originally new to Connex Jersey as their 1179 (J 28941) and later became Unō (University of Hertfordshire) AE501 (T21 UNO).

Tuesday 17 March 2026 (1218) – Bus Stop in Market Street, Ely. The electronic display showing the next three departures was fully functioning but the camera didn’t capture the fast flickering characters. A2B Travel Group now operates service 9 from Cambridge via Ely to Littleport. Note how their sign has been placed over that of Stagecoach the former operator of the service.

It was seen in Market Street, Ely when working service 9 from Littleport to Cambridge. In the background is A2B Travel Group MX12 CFN, an all white Wright Streetlite WF that had been new to Unō (the University of Hertfordshire) in April 2012 as their WS53.

Monday 26 February 2001 (approx. 1420) - Cardiff Bus/Bws Caerdydd 171 (W171 EAX), a Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart new in August 2000, seen in Wood Street, Cardiff working service P2 to Penarth. I travelled on this bus to Penarth.

Friday 27 February 2026 (1106) – In December 2025 another autonomous vehicle trial commenced in the Cambridge area organised by the Greater Cambridge Partnership which uses the ‘Connector’ name. This latest trial is also operated by Whippet Coaches and links the Park and Ride sites at Trumpington and at Babraham Road travelling through the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, home of two major hospitals and to of a number of medical research facilities. Four round trips run Mondays to Fridays departing Trumpington at 0930, 1030, 1200 and 1300 which return from Babraham Road thirty minutes later. YY74 MWF, an Alexander Dennis E100EV first registered in February 2025, and was seen approaching Addenbrooke’s Hospital working the 1100 trip from Babraham Road to Trumpington. A second similar vehicle is used on the trial registered YY74 MWE.

Saturday 21 February 2026 (1228) – Mulleys Motorways Limited YJ23 EKN seen at Fiveways, Barton Mills when working service 355 from Beck Row and Mildenhall to Bury St. Edmunds. It is one of the two Optare MetroDeckers delivered to Mulleys in March 2023 which were part of an order placed by Reading Buses in June 2018 to operate the Green Line branded route 702 from London to Slough, Windsor and Legoland. Reading Buses cancelled the order in July 2020 as part of a number of financial cutbacks made following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. (Optare was renamed Switch Mobility in November 2020).
