Lay-over bays at Bury St. Edmunds bus station- 19 Jun 2024 (P1180569)
Wednesday 19 June 2024 (0854) – Bury St. Edmunds is served by a number of different bus companies.

This view shows the layover bays in the bus station seen from on board Simonds of Botesdale Limited SN56 AGV departing for Diss on service 304. (The silver plate bottom right is a reflection from on board the bus).

Four buses operated by Mulleys Motorways, two of Chambers and one of Stephensons are seen in this view.

The Chambers buses are an Optare Olympus bodied Scania N230UD (870 (PN09 ELO)) that had been new to Metrobus in August 2009 and an East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N94UD (I believe it was 801 (YN55 PZC) new to Metrobus in February 2006. (The Go-Ahead Group's East Anglian operations (Konectbus, Hedingham and Chambers) are grouped under Go East Anglia and managed by Konectbus. The buses carry the Konectbus name and address but visually trade under the names of the three subsidiaries)

The two Mulleys double deckers are Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TLs which had been new to Dublin Bus new in December 2001/January 2002. On the left is MUI 7949 new as Dublin Bus AV202 (01 D 10202). When first imported to Britain it received registration number LW51 ZMV and on the right is LW51 ZHJ new as Dublin Bus AV215 (01 D 10215).

Tucked away in front of MUI 7949 are Mulleys YN53 YHA, an Optare Solo new to Johnson’s, Henley-in-Arden in January 2004 and AP12 BUS, an MCV Evolution bodied Volvo B7RLE new to Pulham and Sons (Coaches) Limited of Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire in March 2012.

Completing the scene is Stephensons 466 (DK57 OPZ), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro bodied Dart that had been new to Huyton Travel in December 2007.
