Bury St. Edmunds bus station - 19 Jun 2024 (P1180564)
Wednesday 19 June 2024 (0846) – Bury St. Edmunds is served by a number of different bus companies so offers the bus enthusiast quite a variety of colour schemes and bus types.

This view shows the layover bays in the bus station of which there are two lanes separated by the exit lane.

Five buses of Mulleys Motorways and one of Chambers are seen in this view.

The Chambers bus is 870 (PN09 ELO), an Optare Olympus bodied Scania N230UD that had been new to Metrobus in August 2009 for operation on Transport for London contracts. According to the Bus Times website it had worked from Haverhill to West Suffolk College on a contract (B1).

The two Mulleys double deckers are Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TLs which had been new to Dublin Bus new in December 2001/January 2002.
Left is MUI 7949 new as Dublin Bus AV202 (01 D 10202). When first imported to Britain it received registration number LW51 ZMV. This bus had worked the 0730 service 955 from West Row and Mildenhall.
Right is LW51 ZHJ new as Dublin Bus AV215 (01 D 10215). It shows service number 956 having worked from either Lakenheath at 0715 or Mildenhall at 0715.

Heading down the exit lane is a Mulleys Scania single decker followed by Mulleys Optare Solo M920 YJ54 UBX which had been new to Johnson’s, Henley-in-Arden in February 2002.

Tucked away in front of MUI 7949 is YN53 YHA another Mulleys Optare Solo that had been new to Johnson’s, Henley-in-Arden in January 2004 whose service number display (312) can be seen through the windows of MUI 7949.
