Sanders Coaches RDV 903 (E221 KFV) in Mildenhall - 25 Oct 1997 (375-05A)

Saturday 25 October 1997 (1125) – Something had gone wrong earlier today because Sanders Coaches of Holt was covering a very late running 0700 Cromer to London National Express service 495 working. Seen here at King Street, Mildenhall at 1125 – some 2 hours 20 minutes late – the weary passengers were scambling to board and get on their way.

I suspect the Ambassador Travel vehicle which would have spent the night at Cromer may have suffered a mechanical problem and so Sanders may have been drafted in as substitute. The second London service of the day from here was service 496 at 1210 so had there been the odd passenger here ahead of time they might have just got away earlier unlike the crowd that had been waiting for over two hours.

RDV 903 was a Van Hool Alizée bodied DAF MB230 that had been new to Robinson’s of Great Harwood in June 1988 registered E221 KFV.
