Sanders Coaches

Sunday 21 September 1997 – Sanders Coaches of Holt SNT 925H seen at the Showbus Rally at Duxford Airfield. It was a Plaxton Panorama Elite bodied Bedford VAL70 new in June 1970 to Foxhall of Bridgnorth.

Tuesday 26 May 1987 – Sanders Coaches of Holt BIL 8430, a Plaxton Supreme bodied Bedford, seen in Walsingham. (I believe this coach may have been new in September 1979 to Standish Coaches of East Hardwick near Pontefract registered KUM 983V and a Bedford YMT chassis.

Monday 7 August 1995 (approx. 1830) –Two Bedford YMT coaches operated by Sanders of Holt seen in Sheringham. Left is GFH 6V with Plaxton Supreme IV bodywork new in May 1980 to Grindle of Cinderford. Right is SJI 1619 with Duple Dominant IV bodywork new to Lloyds Coaches of Melling in May 1981 registered RJU 259W.

Saturday 2 July 1994 - A Plaxton Paramount 3200 operated by Sanders Coaches of Holt is seen travelling eastbound along the A11 between two fields of blue flowered linseed.

Saturday 6 April 1996 (Easter weekend) – Sanders Coaches of Holt 100 (RRT 100W) seen parked at King’s Lynn bus station having worked one of their regular services to the town. It is a Plaxton Supreme IV Express bodied Bedford YMT that had been new to Squirrell’s Coaches of Hitcham, Suffolk in March 1981 later passing to Bammant’s Coaches of Fakenham, Norfolk. The Bammant business was acquired by Sander’s in 1992.

Sunday 12 September 1993 – Sanders Coaches J10 BCK seen at the Eastern Transport Collection Bus Rally near Norwich. It is a Berkhof Excellence bodied Dennis Javelin that had been new in August 1991 to Maynes Coaches of Buckie, Scotland. In later years it became an open top sightseeing coach with City Sightseeing Malta registered CCY 929.

Monday 12 August 1991 – Sanders Coaches of Holt E917 EAY, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Bedford YNV new to Owen’s Coaches of Oswestry in August 1987, seen parked at Sheringham. The coach alongside is DDG 268T, a Plaxton Supreme bodied Leyland Leopard that had been new to National Travel (South West) in April 1979. Not sure which Taylor’s Coaches that was though.

Saturday 18 September 1995 (approx. 1200) – The Barton Mills picnic site on the A1065 has been a popular refreshment and toilet stop for coaches for many years. Coastal bound coaches from the London area and the East Midlands call there as do Norfolk based operators taking their passengers in the London direction. Representing one of the latter is this Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied DAF MB230 operated by Sander’s Coaches from North Norfolk. OGR 647 was new as E160 TVR to Bullock’s Coaches of Cheadle, Cheshire in August 1987.

Saturday 27 May 2000 – A pair of Plaxton Premiere bodied Dennis Javelins operated by Sanders Coaches of Holt seen at RAF Mildenhall attending the Air Fete. Left 68 (P768 PCL) and 67 (P767 PCL) were both new to Sanders in October 1996.

Saturday 26 January 2019 (0953) - Sanders Coaches of Norfolk Chinese built Yutong ZK6938HQ seen heading westbound on the A11 near Kennett of Newmarket. I am not sure if Sanders operate more than one of this type but NS17 GAS is one such which was new in April 2017. (Day one of my new camera training. This still was taken from a series of burst/video shots - not my intended task).

Friday 15 March 2019 (1640) – Slow moving Friday evening traffic on the A11 approaching to Fiveways at Barton Mills sees a Sanders Coaches Chinese built Yutong ZK6938HQ heading back to Norfolk. I am not sure if Sanders operate more than one of this type but NS17 GAS is one such which was new in April 2017.

Sanders Coaches of North Norfolk 3990 ME, a Plaxton Paragon bodied Volvo B12M new to Phillips Coaches of Bewdley in March 2007 registered YN07 DUU. Beestons Coaches of Hadleigh YN18 ZNL, an Irizar i6 intergral new in April 2018.

Friday 11 September 2015 (1050) - Go-Ahead owned Konectbus 632 (SN65 OAO) and Sanders Coaches 306 (YN03 UWH) stand side by side at the traffic lights in Castle Meadow, Norwich.The double decker is one of the Alexander Dennis Enviro400 buses delivered when Konnectbus commenced operating the Norwich Park and Ride contract on Monday 7 September 2015. The Sanders single decker is a Scania CN94UB OmniCity that had been new to Menzies at Heathrow Airport.

Friday 11 September 2015 (1049) – Sanders Coaches 108 (PM03 EJC) is an East Lancs Myllenium bodied VDL DB250 which is seen in Castle Meadow, Norwich. It was new in 2003 to Bus Vannin on the Isle of Man as GMN 614E.

Friday 11 September 2015 (1000) – Sanders Coaches 102 (YJ55 WPA), an East Lancs Lowlander bodied VDL new in November 2005, seen in Norwich Bus Station.

Friday 11 September 2015 (1018) – Sanders Coaches 110 (OU05 AVB) is an East Lancs Myllenium bodied tri-axle Volvo B9TL which is seen in Red Lion Street, Norwich. It was new to Weaverway, Newbury in April 2005. The bus is named ‘Samson’.
