Eastern Counties 887 (EAH 887Y) on the old A11 at Barton Mills – 14 Jul 1984 (X841-3)
Saturday 14 July 1984 – Eastern Counties 887 (EAH 887Y) seen on the old A11 at Barton Mills near the end of Church Lane when working the 1020 Norwich to London National Express service 099.

It is one of the eight Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Leyland Tigers new to in February 1983 that wore the ‘Norfolk Flyer’ livery to operate services between Norfolk and London. They passed to Ambassador Travel when ECOC was split up in September 1984.

After the by-pass was opened this piece of road remained in use for local traffic. The old barn on the left was later demolished after the owner Tony Morley had died and replaced by a somewhat similar shaped residence. The trees have been reduced quite significantly with those on the right replaced by lower level hedgerows.
