Stagecoach Cambus 47354 (AE06 TWV) in Cambridge – 3 Aug 2006 (562-13)

Thursday 3 August 2006 (approx. 1353) – From Monday 24 July 2006 Stagecoach Cambus was awarded the contract to operate the Cambridgeshire County Council contract to operate service 16 (Cambridge to Haverhill) and service 17 (Cambridge to Newmarket) which operated via Cherry Hinton, Teversham, Fulbourn, etc. Both services had previously been operated by Burtons Coaches of Havehill although before that award Cambus had been the operator. I drove on both services whilst at Burtons and I have to say they were among my favourite runs.

One of the differences incorporated from the changeover was that buses also served the Coral Park shopping centre. Stagecoach Cambus 47354 (AE06 TWV), an Optare Solo that was almost brand new having entered service in the previous month, was seen passing through a bus only access road on Coral Park. It was working the 1300 service 17 from Newmarket to Cambridge and Chesterton.
