Temporary bus stops in Emmanuel Road, Cambridge for Covid-19 - 1 Sep 2020 (P1070428)

Tuesday 1 September 2020 (0727) – During the Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic a number of temporary bus stops were created in various parts of Cambridge city centre to reduce the volume of passengers needing to congregate in the bus station. This is a scene in Emmanuel Road not very far from Drummer Street bus station where the temporary stops were identified by the prefix ‘ER’.

Stagecoach in Cambridge buses are seen in this view. Standing at stop ER4 is 10805 (SN66 WAO), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400D MMC new in December 2016 carrying the purple based livery for the Milton Park and Ride service. When new this was one of the buses temporarily assigned to Stagecoach Merseyside (Glenvale) to provide increased capacity during railway engineering works on the Merseyrail Wirral line.

Travelling towards the camera is 15219 (YN15 KHP), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) bodied Scania N230UD new in August 2015. In early 2020 the Stagecoach Group announced a range of different colour schemes to identify the different types of services operated. Ocean Green was chosen for ‘specialist’ services which covers Busway services and this vehicle has been painted so although does not yet carry any further lettering or logos.
