Windscreen label reads ‘B I Staff and Students Only’. I presume ‘B I’ relates to the Babraham Institute, a research centre in the village of Babraham about 6 miles south of the city.

Tuesday 1 September 2020 (0759) – Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) vehicles in Drummer Street bus station, Cambridge. Driver Training Vehicle 36309 (LX58 BZW), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 new in September 2008 to Stagecoach Selkent (London). Following behind is 15216 (YN15 KHU), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) bodied Scania N230UD new in August 2015, departing on the 0755 service 915 to Royston. A number of changes to Busway related services came into operation on Sunday 30 August 2020. The extensions beyond the Busway itself on ordinary public roads through to Peterborough at the northern end and to Royston at the southern end were transferred to separate services. The Royston service became service 915.

Tuesday 1 September 2020 (0726) – Young’s Coaches of Haddenham have at least two former Dublin Bus Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro500 bodied Volvo B9TL double deckers. One of them is seen here in Emmanuel Road, Cambridge operating on the Granta Park staff contract which Young’s took over when Kenzie’s Coaches of Shepreth closed in late 2019. A rather poor and dark shot as I was caught completely by surprise. I cannot make out the actual registration although I believe it is B15 YCC the former Dublin Bus VT19 (05 D 70019) (apparently registered LW55 CCN by dealership Ensign when the vehicle was imported to England). The other vehicle is B14 YCC former Dublin Bus VT14 (05 D 70014) (British registration on import LW55 CCO)

During the work Histon Road has been closed to city bound traffic resulting in the diversion of inbound Citi 8 and Busway B services operated by Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus). To give city bound Histon Road bus passengers a service a temporary service 8H has been in operation since 29 June which travels outward from the city centre to Orchard Park returning to the city centre via Chieftain Way and Arbury Road. Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro300D 27849 (AE13 DZV), new in May 2013, is seen in Drummer Street having arrived back from the circular.

Sadly the reflection on the glass of the destination display makes it difficult to see ‘Histon Road ORCHARD PARK’.

Tuesday 1 September 2020 (0826) – A sunny Autumnal morning shot of Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) 19164 (MX07 HNF) in Emmanuel Road, Cambridge as it arrived from Ely. This was the 0546 service 12 which travels via Soham and Newmarket therefore taking about 45 minutes longer than the direct service 9. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Trident that had been new to Stagecoach Manchester (Greater Manchester Buses South) in August 2007. The grassed area is New Square which many years ago was where buses of different independent bus companies, notably Premier Travel and Whippet Coaches, where parked when on layover. The ‘M’ in the registration indicates a Manchester issue under the current registration system. People of a certain age that remember the old system might relate to seeing the letters HNF on a Manchester registered vehicle. ‘NF’ was one of the series issued in the city which commenced in 1926 with 'HNF' reached in 1947.
