Beestons Coaches S617 URT at Bury St. Edmunds - 1 Feb 2006 (555-6)

Wednesday 1 February 2006 – With effect from Monday 30 January 2006 Beeston’s Coaches (Hadleigh) Limited became the contracted operator of Suffolk County Council supported services 377 and 386 which had previously been operated by Burton’s Coaches of Haverhill. The two services were operationally linked. Service 377 was an early morning service from Hadleigh to Bury St. Edmunds with a corresponding evening return. Service 386 operated between Bury St. Edmunds and Stowmarket during the main part of the day.

During the early weeks of the contract the regular vehicle was S617 URT, a Plaxton Beaver bodied Mercedes-Benz new in November 1998, which is seen in the layover bays of Bury St. Edmunds bus station.
